Arrived!!

We had a lovely weekend acclimatising to southern Africa in Pretoria with cousin Greg and his delightful fiancée! They have been instrumental in preparing us for our trip. This morning we packed the Jeep they had bought with the essentials (such as bedding and an ironing board) that they had bought. The drive was comfortable and straight forward, sometimes not seeing another car for several miles.
We have arrived in Lesotho with a bang! Literally as we were getting our passports stamped at Maseru Bridge border crossing, a thunderstorm came clattering over the hills. It has been a unique welcome, but I hope this is not an omen of what is to come over the year ahead!
We are now sheltering from the rain in our “rondavel” inclusive of thatched roof. Tomorrow I have meetings at the Ministry of Health.
More tomorrow no doubt...

  1. The Rondavel looks very sweet. Good luck with everything and i'm going to pencil in the weekend of the 20th either we come to you or you come up to us. Depending if you want another trip to Macro for 2 litres of peanut butter.
