Arrived!!
We had a lovely weekend acclimatising to southern Africa in Pretoria with cousin Greg and his delightful fiancée! They have been instrumental in preparing us for our trip. This morning we packed the Jeep they had bought with the essentials (such as bedding and an ironing board) that they had bought. The drive was comfortable and straight forward, sometimes not seeing another car for several miles.
We have arrived in Lesotho with a bang! Literally as we were getting our passports stamped at Maseru Bridge border crossing, a thunderstorm came clattering over the hills. It has been a unique welcome, but I hope this is not an omen of what is to come over the year ahead!
We are now sheltering from the rain in our “rondavel” inclusive of thatched roof. Tomorrow I have meetings at the Ministry of Health.
More tomorrow no doubt...

Last day in the UK
We survived the "drink the house dry" party; although I'm not sure everyone else did! Many thanks to your efforts. Kit is "enjoying" an emergency visit to the dentist whilst I am procrastinating with packing. I must get round to it at some point today. We fly early tomorrow, so this will be goodbye Bristol and hello Lesotho!

One week to go...
Preparations are well underway - mainly thanks to Kit's hard work. The house is looking rather bare, except for the alcohol ready for the "drink the house dry" party! We fly a week tomorrow! It is all getting rather exciting!!
